About this event

Title: When Deterministic Systems Behave Randomly Abstract: Chaotic dynamical systems are deterministic, yet their individual trajectories can be extremely difficult to predict. Ergodic theory offers a different point of view: instead of following a single trajectory exactly, we ask whether its long-term statistical behavior can be understood. I will discuss how this perspective allows us to find surprisingly robust patterns inside chaotic dynamics.
