Spencer Fluhman will deliver this Wonder of Scripture lecture. He is an associate professor and chair of the Department of History at Brigham Young University, where he focuses on religious history, Latter-day Saint history, American religion, and North America from 1800 to 1914. Fluhman is known for his leadership as executive director of the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship from 2016 to 2023 and for scholarship recognized by the Mormon History Association. The Wonder of Scripture series, sponsored by BYU’s Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship, invites speakers from diverse backgrounds to explore how sacred texts shape understanding, inspire wonder, and inform meaningful lives. Each lecture offers a distinctive perspective on scripture and its enduring significance.
