About this event
Clinton Whipple will deliver this Wonder of Scripture lecture. He is a professor of biology at Brigham Young University, where he focuses on the evolution and genetics of plant development, especially floral and inflorescence morphology in grasses and maize. Whipple is known for research identifying genetic mechanisms involved in maize domestication, including the grassy tillers gene. The Wonder of Scripture series, sponsored by BYU’s Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship, invites speakers from diverse backgrounds to explore how sacred texts shape understanding, inspire wonder, and inform meaningful lives. Each lecture offers a distinctive perspective on scripture and its enduring significance.
