Steven C. Harper will deliver this Wonder of Scripture lecture. He is a professor of Church History and Doctrine at Brigham Young University and a visiting fellow at the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship, where he focuses on early American religion and culture, revelation, conversion, apostasy, and documentary editing. Harper is known for serving as a managing historian and general editor of Saints and for his work with The Joseph Smith Papers and The Wilford Woodruff Papers. The Wonder of Scripture series, sponsored by BYU’s Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship, invites speakers from diverse backgrounds to explore how sacred texts shape understanding, inspire wonder, and inform meaningful lives. Each lecture offers a distinctive perspective on scripture and its enduring significance.
