Alexandra Mackenzie Johns will deliver this Wonder of Scripture lecture. She is an assistant professor of Theatre Arts at Brigham Young University, where she focuses on religious theatre, site-specific performance, verbatim theatre, pilgrimage, and practice-as-research. Johns is known for co-leading the Performance, Religion, and Spirituality group within the International Federation for Theatre Research and for presenting internationally on religious theatre. The Wonder of Scripture series, sponsored by BYU’s Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship, invites speakers from diverse backgrounds to explore how sacred texts shape understanding, inspire wonder, and inform meaningful lives. Each lecture offers a distinctive perspective on scripture and its enduring significance.
